    Picking a Wedding Venue

One of the most common question asked of a couple after they announce their engagement has to do with the location of the wedding. This is quite a difficult question to answer, because a lot of factors are considered as far as this aspect goes. This can make the experience of picking a location quite overwhelming, which is why one should consider it carefully. With so many factors involved in the wedding, pinning down the location will be key in order to set the tone of the event. A popular choice is a venue that offers some romantic history. However, couples need to keep in mind that many historic wedding venues in Charleston require a reservation to be made quite a long while before the actual date. Whether one wants to find a location for the wedding only, or a venue where the Charleston bridal party can get ready or stay onsite during the event, here is a list of things to consider.

Weddings are all about emotions, and as such, it only makes sense that it is tempting to allow emotions to guide the decision of picking one of the historic wedding venues in Charleston. It is not the end of the world if this is indeed what happens; however, it is a better idea to take a step back, and carefully consider all aspects before choosing and committing to a venue.

    Guest List

One of the big things to take into consideration is the guest list. It is quite difficult to have the guest list ready so early in the planning process, but Charleston couples should be considering the size of their bridal party, and the estimated number of family and friends that will be in attendance. Without this information, choosing a historic wedding venue in Charleston is nearly impossible. The good news is that one doesn’t need the exact number of guests; a ballpark will do.

Another thing to think about is the season in which the wedding will be taking place, and ensuring that one asks for pictures of the venue taken during the season when the wedding will be taking place.

    Time of Day

The first visit of the venue will likely take place on a weekend or during evening hours, because it is most likely the day when both individuals will be available. However, one should ensure that they pay the location a second visit, and that they do so at the time of the day when the wedding will be taking place. This is very important for seeing how the light falls into the space, as this can play a huge role in the way the location appears.

Picking the location of one’s wedding can be quite overwhelming, but as long as one knows how to go about it, the process will undoubtedly become much simpler and straight-forward.
