    Your Guide to Charleston Fall Festivities

    Charleston Fall The weather doesn’t get much better than this time of year in the Lowcountry. It is the ideal time to make your way to Charleston. From the arts to events for foodies, fall is jam-packed with things to do for everyone. Check in to your room at the Governor’s House Inn and head to one of these great events. Swing for the Symphony Hosted by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League, this premier golf event will be held October 7 at the River Course on Kiawah Island. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and CSOL student scholarships. Golfers will enjoy dining at outdoor cafes and beverage carts during the tournament and then they’ll relax with cocktails and a dinner buffet while being entertained by the orchestra. Latin American Festival Don’t miss out on the authentic latin food, education booths and local crafters on October 8 at Charleston Wannamaker County Park. Sights and sounds of the Latin world will fill the air while you enjoy the party. There’s something for everyone at the Latin American Festival. Charleston Stage’s Benefit Performance Dinner and Gala The brightest stars of Broadway will make their way to the Historic Dock Street Theater on October 10 to celebrate Charleston Stage’s expanding Artistic Horizons. Featuring Tony and Oliver award winner Patti LuPone, the Gala evening begins at 6:45 p.m. Party at the Point This weekly outdoor concert series will take place every Friday from 5:30 to 930 p.m. at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marino on Patriot’s Point. The event features live, local music during a premier Happy Hour with a full cash bar. The fall season runs through Friday, October 11, 2013. 4th Annual 2013 Charleston Mac Off One of the largest macaroni and cheese festivals in the county, Charleston Mac Off will return on October 12 from 2 to 7 p.m. Restaurants take this competition very seriously! General admission is $20. Taste of the Market On October 17, join the City Market Hospitality Association for Taste of the Market. There will be chef demonstrations, live music and great specials running all night long. For $10, you’ll get unlimited sampling. It’s $5 for children 10 and under. The 2013 Red Party This annual fundraiser will be held on October 25 at the Old City Jail with a Great Gatsby theme. The Red Party will feature all the grandeur and excess of Jay Gatsby’s “little” mansion parties! Edisto Island Bluegrass Festival Here you’ll find the best traditional and contemporary Bluegrass and Americana bands in the country! Relax and enjoy the amazing scenery on the grounds of Edisto’s historic Point of Pines Plantation from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on October 26. 12th Annual Harvest Fest The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission will host the 12th Annual Harvest Fest on November 2nd. Enjoy all your favorite festival foods, along with live music! The crafters market is also great for holiday shopping!
