    Guide to Charleston Cruises

Charleston Cruises Spend a few nights in the Holy City, then climb aboard a ship to sail through the Bahamas, Bermuda or the Caribbean. It’s the best of both worlds and the ships sail year-round. Start planning your vacation now with the help of this Charleston Cruises Guide from the Governor’s House Inn Bed and Breakfast. First let’s talk about your options. You can go big or small, cruising around the country or into the Caribbean. Carnival Cruises offer cruises from Charleston all throughout the year. The Carnival Fantasy takes 5 or 7 day cruises to the Bahamas, eastern Caribbean and even Bermuda. Prices start as low as $239 for 5 days. How can you beat that? For as little as $48 per night, you can cruise to the Bahamas Islands, where the living is easy. You’ll find a sun-splashed seascape of 700 islands and 2,000 cays that offer idyllic tropical getaways for sailing, snorkeling, fishing, strolling the beaches and swimming. This particular cruise departs from Charleston, South Carolina and is followed by a fun day at sea. It then visits Freeport and Nassau, spends another day at sea and brings you right back to Charleston on day 6. Now that is a deal! The ship is called Carnival Fantasy, and is the original Fantasy class ship, which is a series that showed the world how fun is done. She has a crew of 920 onboard and a 2,056 passenger capacity. Promising 24 hours of fun a day, the Carnival Fantasy is fitted with all the modern conveniences. There’s a Serenity Adult-Only Retreat where you can relax, along with Spa Carnival. And you must visit the Egyptian-themed piano bar and onboard water park! But if you don’t want to venture out of the country, consider booking with American Cruise Lines. You can take a small ship cruise on calm inland waterways and sail north or south on the Intracoastal Waterway. You’ll take in beautiful towns and islands along your way. Their ships hold less than 120 passengers, giving them the ability to stop by interesting ports that large cruise ships can’t reach. In addition, the ships are built in America, with many of their staterooms offering private balconies. When you cruise out of Charleston, you can experience southern hospitality at its finest. You can take a fabulous walking tour when you visit cities like Savannah and Beaufort and enjoy the glorious southern sunsets. So now you should know how to find a good deal. It’s really not difficult, because even at their highest, these all-inclusive vacations are an exceptional value. We do, however, suggest booking early and even using a travel agent that specializes in cruises. Sometimes they can get special discounts and the good news is it won’t cost you. The cruise line pays their commission. As you begin planning your getaway on one of these Charleston cruises, we invite you to reserve your room with us at the Governor’s House Inn. Stay with us before or after your cruise so that you can experience all our historic southern city has to offer. Our Inn is a National Historic Landmark that offers something for everyone.
