Enjoy Spring in Charleston at the Charleston Antiques Show

The city of Charleston, South Carolina, is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year. However, it also hosts a number of special events that make it an even more appealing destination. There is an annual Fashion Show, a Festival of Homes and Gardens, and also a very popular Antiques Show.

    The Charleston Antiques Show

This event is held in March every year at the Charleston Gaillard Center. It is a showcase for collectors and enthusiasts and for those who want to learn more about including antiques in their homes. The city of Charleston, with its rich history, architecture and culture, is a perfect location for such an event. Exhibitors from England, Europe and America show a wide selection of furnishings, fine and decorative arts, garden furniture, vintage jewelry, architectural elements, and silver items, dating from the late 17th to the 20th centuries.

As well as offering dealers a chance to show off their antique items, visitors can also learn more about various antiques such as rare art, posters, quilts, and exquisite furniture. Designers hold talks and book signings. There is a Collectors Circle that includes the opportunity to participate in the Preview Party and access to an exclusive Collectors Circle Room. Catered food and beverages are provided, and there are invitations to parties held in some of the city’s private historic homes.

History lovers will appreciate the backdrop of the center, as it is an elegant venue space, designed in the tradition of the great performance halls you can find in Europe. As well as the Antiques Show, the center is famous as a music and entertainment venue.

    Planning Your Visit to Charleston

Tickets for the event go on sale starting in November of the previous year. There are a wealth of wonderful places you can stay, but booking early is advisable, as the event is very popular. Lodgings and hotels are plentiful, as are historic bed and breakfast inns in Charleston. As well as visiting the Antiques Show, you’ll be able to surround yourself with all the charm and history the city has to offer. Hotels are an affordable option, but staying in a historic bed and breakfast will provide you with a stress-free stay. You’ll also be treated to delicious food and warm hospitality. Pick the right location and you’ll be there in the middle of downtown Charleston, able to enjoy all the attractions and amenities without missing out on any of the action.

If you’re a lover of history and would like to learn more about incorporating antiques into your home, the Annual Antiques Show is certainly worth a visit. Make a special occasion of your visit by staying in a historic bed and breakfast.
