    Charleston Events The holidays will soon be upon us and that means time for rest and relaxation! Make your way to Charleston, South Carolina, during the month of November for fun, history and maybe even a little romance. These are some great Charleston events in November you don’t want to miss! 12th Annual Harvest Fest Agricultural families across America have long gathered every fall to give thanks and celebrate a bountiful Harvest season with a day of games, feasting, music and fun. The tradition continues during the 12th Annual Harvest Fest on November 2. Dance to music from five local bluegrass bands, go on a hayride or decorate a pumpkin at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center. There will be penny diving, lasso demonstrations, a stick pony corral and more! The crafter’s market is great for holiday shopping. To learn more, click here. 16th Annual Symphony Tour of Homes From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, you will have the opportunity to tour five exceptional homes, all enchanted by live music provided by CSOL scholarship recipients and Charleston Symphony Orchestra musicians. The Symphony Tour of Homes showcases a wide variety of outstanding residences. Each one is unique in its architectural and interior design. For the first time, homes on both Kiawah and Seabrook Islands will be featured on the tour. There will also be a special concert on The Green at Freshfields Village starting at 5 p.m. Lowcountry Hoedown Suit up in your best plaid and prepare for a boot stompin’ good time! The 2nd annual Lowcountry Hoedown will kick off Saturday, November 9 at 7 p.m. The all-inclusive shindig will offer bourbon, moonshine, and whiskey cocktails from over a dozen distilleries. You’ll nosh on BBQ, brisket and delicious southern treats from Lowcountry restaurants and artisan food vendors. Finally, dance until you drop to the sounds of two fantastic bluegrass bands: Seven Handle Circus (Atlanta, GA) and The Barefoot Movement (Johnson City, TN). Tickets are $50 in advance or $65 at the door. YALL Fest This is a free event featuring 50 of the countries top Young Adult authors. The authors include 25 New York Times bestsellers. They’ll gather for panels, presentations, and signings on three Upper King Street Stages. It’s all going down November 9 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Taste of the Market On November 21, the City Market Hospitality Association will host Taste of the Market. For $10, you’ll enjoy live music, special deals and samples from participating restaurants. The specials, music and chef demonstrations continue all night long! 2013 ESPN Charleston Classic The men’s college basketball tournament will feature a bracket format with 12 games over a three-day period. On November 21, 22, and 24, teams will compete in the 2013 Charleston Classic. They’ll advance through the bracket, competing in one game per day. The two teams that remain undefeated will face off in the championship game. 36th Annual Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble Talk about a tradition! The annual event is a tradition for both Charleston natives and travelers alike. This is the largest 5K in South Carolina. It kicks off at 9 a.m. at Marion Square in Charleston. You’ll go through downtown Charleston and the Battery before you return to Marion Square for a post-race party! Free food and beverages will be provided to those that are 21+, but there’s a children’s fun run and activities that will include all ages!
