Annual Antiques Show Brings History and Culture to Charleston

Charleston, South Carolina is already a beautiful city with a rich history. However, for three days in March, the history deepens.

    The Annual Antiques Show

The annual Antiques Show in this South Carolina city is a favorite for antique collectors, history lovers, and those with an interest in beautiful and unique items. The show provides a wide selection of items from furniture, jewelry, appliances, art, household items, and even clothing. Additionally, many of these items displayed at the show are hundreds of years old, with previous items shown being from the 17th century. Throughout the show, you can purchase many of the antique items or at various educational events, you can learn and increase your knowledge of past centuries.

In addition to simply enjoying the show, there are other activities antique lovers can enjoy. A preview party is one event where you can meet many antique collectors and other individuals who share your similar interests. The event is held at the Gaillard Center the night before the main event, and features a night of gourmet food and great conversation. There are also small group talks with many designers to learn how to incorporate an antique with your current décor and style of your home.

What are the Details of the Antiques Show?

The Antiques Show is held Friday, March 16 until Sunday, March 18 at the Charleston Gaillard Center on Calhoun Street. Tickets are $5 for each individual and no cards or checks are accepted. If you are interested in attending the preview party, it will be Thursday, March 15 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tickets for this event are $200 a person and will provide a pass for the entire show.

Create a Truly Memorable and Historic Experience

If you want to create a truly memorable experience when attending the antiques show, plan your trip accordingly. Instead of staying at a hotel, make reservations to stay in a historic bed and breakfast in Charleston. You can enjoy a much quieter, less stressful stay, and enjoy warm hospitality and delicious food. Additionally, by making your reservations early, you can choose a bed and breakfast that is right in the heart of downtown, so you are in the middle of all the action, amenities, and attractions.

If you want to create three days full of history, beautiful items, and even a nice, calm stay, the Annual Antiques Show is worth your consideration. However, make the entire weekend an event to remember by staying in a historic bed and breakfast with a rich history and beautiful accommodations.
