3 Things to do on Your Couple’s Weekend

If you are planning a romantic getaway weekend in Charleston, you no doubt want to make it absolutely perfect in every way. From the carefully selected accomodation to the restaurants, drinking establishments, and where you spend your afternoon, making sure everything turns out just how you envision is an important part of making sure you have a great weekend together. As you start to make plans, think about incorporating these options into your weekend schedule:

    Do a Museum Tour

There is something pretty cute about walking around a city holding hands and stopping into various museums and art galleries to stroll through together. Whether you center them around a certain theme, choose them based on their location on the map, or simply pick and choose the ones that you think would be your favorite, take advantage of the opportunity to spend time together as well as learn new things and take in some history! In between your visits, you can stop at a nice cafe and have lunch and then walk back to your hotel after a long day to enjoy some room service and watch a movie.

Have a Food and Wine Day

Pretend you are like the fancy food and wine connoisseurs and journalists who appear on TV and in magazines reviewing restaurants, and paint your day with a selection of must-visit food and drink locations. You can start with the best place to have coffee first thing in the morning, before taking in brunch. Move on to a late lunch, perhaps at a restaurant featuring tapas or a degustation menu, before finding a fancy cocktail bar for happy hour. From there, be sure you have made reservations for a late dinner at one of the city’s finest restaurants to finish off the night in style with more mouth-watering food and fancy wine.

    Pamper Yourselves

It wouldn’t be a romantic weekend without paying some extra attention to pampering yourselves and devoting a little bit of time to self-love and relaxation. After a lazy morning sleeping in and lounging around your room with coffee, book in a trip to a spa where you can both have a massage and a manicure and pedicure. If possible, choose one that has a sauna or steam room to further sweat out all the toxins and bring yourselves to complete relaxation. Afterwards, spend some time walking around the city an then take advantage of some of the wonderful Charleston restaurants to refuel your body, enjoy some much needed wine, and complete your day.

Whether you are making weekend plans last minute or getting things together in advance to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, taking some time to make sure you plan out how you want to spend your days together is an important part of making sure you have a great getaway.
