The Classic Carriage Works building helped supply the first carriage tour in Charleston nearly 60 years ago. This company is extremely customer-service oriented and will provide you with an excellent experience. The tours are one hour and can be private or for large groups.

Palmetto Carriage

This one-hour tour will be fully narrated by an experienced tour guide and will take you through the streets of historic Charleston. Palmetto Carriage is capable of taking up to 200 passengers but can also provide private carriage rides and wedding carriages.

Old South Carriage Co.
Location: 14 Anson Street
Standard Price: Adults – $23; Children – $15
Old South Carriage Co. was founded in 1983 by David Compton and has grown from being a three-horse and one-carriage operation to now having 20 horses and 15 different carriages. Guests can purchase their tickets for a one-hour historic residential tour, an intimate private tour (2-5 passengers), or a combo tour that also features a SpiritLine Harbor Cruise (for an additional cost).

Charleston Carriage Tours by Carolina Polo and Carriage Company
Location: 181 Church Street & 16 Hayne Street
Standard Price: Adult – $22; Children – $15
The tours at Carolina Polo and Carriage Company give you the flexibility of starting at two different locations. This carriage company is also owned by Charleston families who have been in the city since the 1600s. That means you will get to hear from centuries of local experience when you take your one-hour tour.

Charleston Carriage Works
Location: 20 Anson Street
Standard Price: Adults – $23; Children – $15
Charleston Carriage Works has taken over the space once occupied by Olde Towne Carriage Company on Anson Street. Their modern carriages are designed to be lighter for the horses and will seat up to 16 passengers. The standard tour is an hour long, and Charleston Carriage Works also provides carriages for weddings and other special occasions.
