This is Charleston’s home for improv comedy. The party never stops at Theatre 99. They are constantly creating original hilarity that you can catch on almost every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. It’s also a great place to catch annual festivals showcasing top comedic talent from across the country and at home. Although the focus is primarily on improv, Theatre 99 also offers sketch and standup, music and cabaret.

If you’re looking for a good laugh, or a good mystery, the Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre is where you will find it. This cozy little theatre can sell out quickly, but it features several fantastic shows.
“Heist, Heist Baby” is recommended for adults out on the town and Heist fans. It’s rated PG, but contains some humor and innuendo that may not be appropriate for pre-teens.
“Sweet T. Christmas” is perfect for the holiday season. It’s a holiday whodunit with spirit. This one is for friends, family and coworkers looking to share some laughs. It’s a little silly and a little sweet. You may want to keep the children under 9 at home.
“Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Yoo-Hoo: A Pirate Show” is one for all ages. It’s great for adults who like nutty yet intelligent wordplay, families looking for clean but clever comedy and all those interested in Charleston’s pirate history!
Adults, teens, pre-teens, and those with interest in Sherlock Holmes or Charleston history will enjoy “Sherlock Holmes and the Charleston History Mystery!” It’s good, clean comedy that’s rated PG.
Inspector NoClue’s Murder Mystery is the classic comic whodunit. It’s suggested for mystery fans and adults out on the town (and away from the kids).
