It is hard to believe that we are coming to the end of 2011. This past year has been wonderful for us at the inn. It is truly amazing to think about all that has happened in Charleston and around the world. When you think back over the course of the year, it forces you to think about how you will live in the upcoming year and what you will do the same or differently. We are looking forward to 2012, and excited about bringing in the new year here in the city. If you are in Charleston on New Year’s Eve, here are just a few events taking place in and around Charleston to give you some ideas for your celebration:
Check Out Marion Square for “Happy New Year Charleston!”

New Year’s Eve Crystal Ball
Date and Time: Sat., Dec. 31, 8 p.m.
The second annual Crystal Ball is a semi-formal, early-evening party for those who love shagging to oldies and grinding to the disco, funk, and party-rock of the ’70s and ’80s. This year’s lineup features two of Charleston’s most in-demand dance groups. The East Coast Party Band handle a mix of old-school soul, rock ’n’ roll, and beach music. PlaneJane gets down on a wide variety of classic funk, R&B, vintage pop, ’80s rock, and contemporary Top 40. Admission includes cocktails and beverages from 16 bar stations, premium food, party favors, a champagne toast at midnight, and a digital sound and light show from OtherBrother and Stage Presence. A portion of proceeds will benefit MUSC’s Children’s Hospital (Charleston City Paper).
We hope your 2011 was fantastic, and we wish you all the best in 2012! Have a very happy and safe New Year’s!
